New York, 25th Dec by Mes Hommes

It’s the morning after Christmas. But the US ones just begins and with the vision of empty streets and peaceful day we are leaving The Evelyn hotel in an early hour. Until now we believed that a good morning starts with a cup of hot coffee. From now it is a cup of coffee and breathtaking view of the Flatiron building which is just a few steps away from our hotel and becomes our daily companion. Christmas morning in New York is really peaceful. Beautiful sunny weather we enjoy every time when we stand

Skiing in the Alps, part 2 by The Blond Zebras

It took me a while but I can’t miss sharing another part of my trip to the Austrian Alps with you. The four days I spent in the mountains were not just about skiing. There was also some great food, drinks, some surprises and a little bit of dancing. I already told you about the most wonderful little mountain chalet that we were staying at for the first night – Hotel Koller. It was the most enchanting place I’ve ever seen in the snow – right out of a Hand Christian Andersen story. Green window frames,

The Blond Zebras BMW

Blue Rocket By The Blond Zebras

Ok, guys, here’s the thing. I must admit that I’m a pretty spoiled person when it comes to some things. My Dad always loved technology and cars, so when he could, he always bought the best possible ones for us. He rides a perfect Mercedes which I love, but to be honest, never ride much since I don’t live at home anymore. But I always knew, I have always been aware of the possibilities of what a car can do and what the latest „toys“ in it can be. And I adore Top Gear, too. So there are cars that I like, that

Austrian Alps by Le Chique Diplomatique

This post will be a combination of two places I´ve visited, but they´re connected with one story. If you follow me on Instagram you know, that we´ve enjoyed a beautiful skiing in the Austrian Alps before Christmas . Actually, we couldn´be in a better place than in mountain hotel Berghotel Rudolfshütte, surrounded by 22 imposing 3.000-meter peaks and numerous glaciers. Rooms were very cozy, food was delicious and even panoramatic sauna with stunning view of the Alps surrounding us made our vacation unforgettable.

Racing to the Sun Mini

RACING TO THE SUN BY THE BLOND ZEBRAS

I don’t know if I ever told you, but one of my first real nicknames was Mini. One of my friends created it when I was about 14, because I was basically tiny. The guys were big in comparison, so Mini stuck for a while. And when I was 18, my parents gave me a traditional 18-birthday gift – a drivers licence lessons, plus a fictional car – my favourite. Red MINI Cooper with two white stripes on the hood. Obviously. Last November, just after my birthday, I was supposed to travel to Prievidza with my lovely

ICELAND – TO THE NORTH BY SJU LOVES

After listening to my well-traveled friends and their experience with Iceland, I expected pretty much everything from Iceland. Beautiful nature and views like from a fairytale, but also rough countryside with all of the seasons in one day. Warm beaming sun in the morning, rain pouring even from the ground in the afternoon and snowy storm in the evening.. well, if you can call it an evening. Travelling through Iceland in June means the all-day-long daylight. And that was the only true expected thing, I've

CHRISTMAS IN BUDAPEST BY THE BLOND ZEBRAS

If you’ve read this blog for some time, you’ll know that I love Christmas time in all shapes, moods and colours. I hate the cold, but the fairy lights and a hot punch usually make up for it in some way. That’s why I also love taking trips to different Christmas markets and cities decorated in their best Christmas gear. So far I’ve been to various cities across Slovakia, in Prague and Vienna and I’ve also been to Budapest Christmas markets once, but it was ages ago so I don’t remember too much (and I wasn’t drinking

BERLIN

Today I have prepared for you a summary of our trip in Berlin. We´ve decided with my friends to spend a weekend  in Berlin. We went there by car and the most of our journey went fast thanks to made-up games. We arrived to Berlin at night, so we´ve just unpacked our luggage and went to bed. The programme for the next two days was really filled with different activities. We had a wake-up call at seven o'clock and after the breakfast went to the city center. Fortunately, I made up my mind and took warmer jacket

FIRST TIME IN OSLO BY MES HOMMES

Walk down the streets of an unknown city alone that you know only from the postcards, photos or movies is so great from time to time. It can clear you head. Unknown place is not burdened by history or memories. You enjoy it few hours, maybe day or two, it depends on the heaviness of the thoughts and on the taste to observe and perceive. Walk down the streets of an unknown city with the one which is the closest to your heart, is unbelievably liberating and relaxing. You know that the heaviness of attention is not

WHERE TO GO IN BARCELONA BY SJU LOVES

Barcelona - one of my fav cities in the world! Thank you, General Preyer Day, a public holiday in mostly atheistic Denmark and thank you, cheap flying tickets, you allowed us to travel in such a beautiful place. Before we go ahead to things I like, disliked and what do I recommend, let's see, where we stayed -- and it was here, by Enrique! It was a great stay, thank you Enrique for having us! Sju loves: Weather. I've been to Barcelona once in November and this year in April, and each time it was a great escape

ROME BY LE CHIQUE DIPLOMATIQUE

I will continue with the next holiday post, this time from Rome. Except of Paris, Sweden and Moscow, Rome is another place that I have always wanted  to visit. Thanks to my aunt who lives in this city for a couple of years already, my dream came true many times. Our mornings have always started on the terrace with typical cappuccino and cornetto (croissant with filling) and our days ended in the same way, but cappuccino was replaced by Aperol ☺ Each visit of  Rome is connected with sightseeing as

VERONA WITH ADELE BY MES HOMMES

A beautiful ancient city, famous mostly by Shakespeare’s love tragedy of Romeo and Juliet. But to think that it can only offer you a bronze statue of Juliet with worn breasts and THAT balcony under which Romeo declared his love to her, would be a huge shame. Did you know that here was built Arena in 30 A.D., which is the third largest amphitheater in the world after Roman Colosseum and the one in Naples? And it still serves its purpose. It hosts theater festivals, various operas and operettas (hence

WHERE TO GO IN COPENHAGEN BY SJU LOVES

Do you also usually skip the places near your home when you go out?  I've never been to any of the pubs or restaurants in the street in Prague I lived on, not even in the theatre 100m away from our apartment (what a shame!). And the situation is not too much different for me while living in CPH. But as long as I bike everywhere, I don't really mind -- because biking to visit an awesome place is like having two awesome things together!  I ( Sju loves) made this short guide for you guys who are planning

A TRIP TO TRIESTE

I can’t believe it’s been so many months since I took my last trip. The time flies so quickly that it took me a while to tell you this story, but, you know, I hope it’ll be worth waiting for. Do you love coffee? A simple question that would later determine if the Italian port city of Trieste will only be another holiday destination for you or a dreamy place you’ll want to visit again as soon as possible. The thing is, Trieste, a beautiful historical port by the Adriatic Sea, on the border of Slovenia and Italy,
